Down The Lane

As promised/threatened, here's a selection of stuff I brought home from down the lane on Friday late afternoon ...

 Nettle Weevil (Phyllobius pomaceus)

Small Green Nettle Weevil (Phyllobius roboretanus)

Liophloeus tessulatus

Calathus melanocephalus

Notiophilus biguttatus

I also found but failed to photograph Demetrias atricapillus.

Hi Mark

Your Weevil might be Barynotus moerens, a few about here recently.

What do you use to find all of these? just sight? or with a sweep net?

All the best.
Ben

Thanks Ben, I'll check that one out.

Just lately I've been slowly ambling about with my eyes peeled and poking about in shrubbery and under logs etc. No nets involved for these!

I will bash bushes and use the net when the conditions are better - just lately it's been too damp, cold or windy to bother with that.

Thanks Mark
It is a lovely sunny day here today so I will have a walk around the wood near my house as moths are boring now :p
