Listening to - NERO - Welcome Reality

This week I have mostly been listening to the newly released Welcome Reality by Nero. Excellent stuff provided you are partial to a bit of electronica with decent beat and bass and wibbly bits, and a nice vocal. Here's an album sampler giving a flavour of the whole thing - turn it up loud and damage your speakers.

Whilst driving up and down the motorway etc this week, I've entertained myself with some class Dubstep/DnB. Lately I've been getting increasingly pissed off with the plethora of YouTube adverts and wanky comments associated with music vids, so once again I've gone DIY to share some tunes.

And whilst they tend to get slated by hardcore DnB fanatics, I personally think the Hold Your Colour release from Pendulum is superb.

This week, I have mostly been listening to -

After the synth pop revival, I reloaded the i-Pod with a small but powerful selection of, well, stuff. Electronic based from across the last couple of decades, a bit off the wall and difficult to pigeon-hole into any particular genre. Contributors to this mix included Controlled Bleeding, Hula, Suicide, Alien Sex Fiend, Bjork, a bit of FSOL and also: Portishead - really like the current single Machine Gun, because of rather than in spite of the lack of music! Aphex Twin - the brasher slightly less ambient stuff. This video is fucking brilliant! This track in particular is probably what prompted a mid-week re-load with 100% D&B, courtesy of the Drum & Bass Arena podcasts. Why not download a couple of tasters - play them loud.
