Life in the garden - 07/05/2008

An early evening mooch around the garden in warm sunshine revealed a few spiders, though the only one I bothered to photograph was this one:

I think this is a Nusery Web Spider, from browsing websites. I ought to get some reference literature for spiders - there are so many in the garden it would be nice to know which species are involved.

A surviving remnant from the previous house owners is a patch of wild/alpine strawberries. This is now sprawling all around the slab where I run the MV trap. The first flowers appeared sometime this week.

Another pink that is flowering at the moment is a cultivated saxifrage:
saxifrage of some sort
