Mothless Trap
Others in VC55, with more favourable gardens/locations with mature woodland nearby, have been running their moth traps pretty much throughout the winter with varying success. Pointless for me - only a few widespread mature trees around my garden and these are mainly sycamore, birch and cherry.
Following an Agonopterix heracliana to a lit window on Friday night, and with the excellent daytime temps yesterday I thought I'd try running the garden trap for the first time this year.
There was precisely nothing in it this morning, hardly a surprise given the extremely rapid drop in temps at dusk.
