Whetstone Moth Report 2011

A bit delayed whilst I awaited the gen dets, but I've pulled together another garden mothing report in the same style as last year and uploaded it to Google Docs ...

As before, there is a full species listing, trend analysis, photos and endless mothy waffle. You can either read it in the Google Docs viewer (a little pixelated), or click 'File' + 'Download Original' to get the proper pdf version to read at leisure.

Have a look, and I'd appreciate any comments (and please do point out any glaring errors!).

Skev, I might be a bit thick, but how can I access your report. I've not used or even gone to Google Docs before. Cheers, Steve

Sorry Steve - I should have pointed out that the link is under the picture of the cover. I'll tweak for clarity.

Mightily impressed Skev! Out of interest, what software packages did you use to produce the graphs and put it all together?

Thanks Steve. It's nothing fancy on the software side - just a Word document with stuff cut n pasted in and then printed as a PDF file. All of my moth records are in MapMate, which I use directly to produce the flight period plots. I also run a couple of different SQL queries in MapMate and export the data via into Excel to do the records tables and 'trend' charts.
MapMate is brilliant by the way - have you tried it?

Thanks Matt - it helps bridge the gap between actually seeing and recording moths!
