D. mendica Variations

There are a number of moth species that have naturally wide variation in the intensity and even colour of their markings. One such species is Ingrailed Clay, which is what all three of the following are:

Beautiful- but yet to come my way so far.....Great shots, especially R-n Footman in the last post- massively scarce in VC30.

Red-necked very scarce here too Matt. I've had it at Charnwood Lodge a couple of times and was lucky to get it last year at another site c40 miles the other side of VC55, but there are very few records otherwise and probably none between these two areas.
