I mentioned a few posts ago that we found mines on London Planes in Belgrave Gardens (29/06/2008) - I managed to rear one through (emerged 12/07/2008) and confirm that they were Phyllonorycter platani as expected.
Photographing these tiny moths is never easy, but this blighter was intent on suicide or escape so a little CO2 was required. The bugger still managed to knacker its forewing a little - there is a piece missing along the costa. Good to get a shot though, although I subsequently found that Keith had beaten me to it by a day or so.
Phyllonorycter platani - tiny pain in the arse
